There is a light that brings no peace, but instead a blinding glare. There is a heat that does not warm, but burns until only ashes remain. In this work, anger emerges as both a destructive force and a revealing one—shattering the surface, yet exposing what lies hidden beneath its flames. Behind every outburst, there may be wounds yet to be healed. Within every ember, there may be a part of the self quietly asking to be seen.

Olivia Tanzil

Olivia Tanzil received her Bachelor of Art degree from Universitas Kristen Petra, Surabaya(1998–2002) and is a member of the Urban Sketchers Surabaya Community. Since beginning her artistic practice, she has actively participated in various group exhibitions and community-based art initiatives. She currently lives and works in Surabaya.
